Thanks for your comment. I do believe that if the people like us continue to reach out and get to know each other and share what we learn about each other, we have a chance of overcoming both the bad political atmosphere AND the hate. I may be naive, but what other option do we have than to try?

I will definitely check BloggersUnite and participate in the Iran event.

Peace,

Ann

Thanks you so much Annevita for sharing this.

I do belive that politicains -whoever & wherever- always spoil the atmosphere in one way of another. All the countries have people like us as you said and I wonder where are we -humans- heading to under this buzz of hating each other?

--- side note: Check BloggersUnite as they are organising an Event for Iran if you are interested in participating with a post or maybe this one suite it.

My tribe is a tribe of 1 with the potential to be a tribe of all. I've never been a joiner and the application to join my tribe is simply sharing the belief that we are all better off helping each other rather than competing with each other.

Hello, Ashraf, Thanks for visiting ChangeAction. You make a very good point. There is a much larger problem with human rights in Iran, and with reporters imprisoned all over the world. Because Roxana Saberi is American, and because of the continuing difficulties between the U.S. and Iranian governments, her case is getting much attention. My hope is that her case will help to bring much deserved attention to the plights of other imprisoned reporters and victims of human rights abuses in Iran and around the world. Right now I am doing more research about human rights in Iran, and tomorrow is World Press Freedom Day, so I hope to post more here about the broader issues of human rights and press freedom very soon. Meanwhile, my post about Omidreza Mirsayafi has links to some organizations working to draw attention to the cases of other imprisoned reporters, including Kareem Amir. If you have ideas about ways that people can take action, I hope you'll share them here. Regards, Annevita
